The main characteristics of dandyism are considered to be elegance, high-quality materials, originality, details, accessories, care for appearance, self-promotion, and the ability to shock. All these qualities are manifested in VALTOVA's latest collection, which aims to transform the inspiration of the past into wearable garments for today. Quaintrelle or Dandizette were groups of women associated with the dandyism movement. These women were concerned with their appearance, interested in the latest fashions and accessories of all kinds. Their interest manifested itself in absurd overdressing, in taking care of themselves, but also in shocking society by adopting the rules of dandyism and dressing in men's clothes. This collection is dedicated to these women. The collection is primarily concerned with the differences between women's and men's wardrobes and their subsequent interconnection, combining elements from both to create new garments. An important source of inspiration was also the use of padding and support underwear, which changes t he silhouette of the figure, accentuating or flattening certain parts of the body. Accessories such as handbags, necklaces, gloves, or stockings were added, recalling the pomposity of early 19th-century fashion.
